The UFC has launched an investigation following unusual betting activity surrounding Isaac Dulgarian’s fight against Yadier Del Valle at UFC Vegas 110 last Saturday.
Just moments before Dulgarian made his walk to the octagon, betting lines shifted dramatically — a rare occurrence that quickly caught the attention of sportsbooks and fans alike. Despite being heavily favored throughout the week, his odds dropped sharply right before the fight. Some major sportsbooks even pulled prop bets like first-round finishes from their boards altogether.
Dulgarian went on to lose by first-round submission, and the following day, reports surfaced that he had been released from the UFC.
In a statement issued Monday, the promotion confirmed that its independent betting integrity partner, IC360, is conducting a full review of the situation:
“Like many professional sports organizations, UFC works with an independent betting integrity service to monitor wagering activity on our events,” officials said. “Our betting integrity partner, IC360, monitors wagering on every UFC event and is conducting a thorough review of the facts surrounding the Dulgarian vs. del Valle bout on Saturday, November 1.
“We take these allegations very seriously, and along with the health and safety of our fighters, nothing is more important than the integrity of our sport.”
Following the bout, both William Hill and Caesars Sportsbook announced that they would refund losing wagers placed on the fight, issuing credits to affected bettors within 24 hours.
Not the First Time
This isn’t the first time the UFC has dealt with betting controversies.
In 2022, Darrick Minner’s first-round loss to Shayilan Nuerdanbieke sparked similar concerns after an abrupt odds shift before the fight. That incident led to Minner’s release, and a lifetime ban for his coach, James Krause, after an investigation revealed potential insider betting.
Former UFC fighter Jeff Molina, a teammate of Minner, was also suspended three years by the Nevada Athletic Commission for placing significant bets on that same fight while failing to disclose Minner’s injury.
What’s Next for the Dulgarian Case
At this stage, the UFC hasn’t released further details on potential disciplinary actions or findings. With IC360’s review ongoing, the organization is making it clear that maintaining betting integrity remains a top priority as the sport continues to grow in popularity and betting partnerships expand.
